I just happened to have very little work for a few weeks as the new venture I am startuing will take some time. So I decided to use my free time to do something to help people. I know several people are into yahoo as its a very popular site. I just think I'll try to help all you who are newbies to the world of Internet -I'm sure most of them wil be kids though :) to make them learn the basics of how to use the yahoo site. I will try to explain you guys about everything related to yahoo be it yahoo mail, yahoo games, yahoo messenger, yahoo personals, or yahoo chat.
So here we go................
Ok lets start with Yahoo mail first,
I'll just go step by step:
With over 1 GB of storage space and with ample facilities to block spam and unsolicited mails yahoo mail without doubt is one of the most widely used and accepted e-mail account preferred by people. Let’s take a step by step look towards the features of the Yahoo Mail.
How to open a new yahoo mail account?
Open your browser, type www.mail.yahoo.com and press enter
Search for "Sign up" and click on it, press 'ok' is asked.
Fill up all the details in the form that will appear on your screen.
Remember, people from all over the world have already registered in yahoo before, so you must try with a unique username, otherwise it may take hours to just register a username that isn't already registered. Think of a alpha-numeric combination-that will work best.
After you finish filling the form, click on "I agree" button.
If there's any error in filling the form it wil appear in red, correct the entries and submit again.
Yahoooo your mail account is opened and you can now use you yahoo email address to send and receive mails.
Must remember to note down your id and password, many people forget both and then have to register all over again.

How to use yahoo mails?
So now you already have an account with yahoo, now just go to the url -http://mail.yahoo.com/ here we are required to type in the desired username and password that was created by the individual during the account registration process and click on the Sign In button, immediately the page directs us to the mailbox, where initially we should look for the term which would be obviously hyperlinked “Inbox”. To access the e-mails sent by other recipients we are required to click here. Following this we will now be viewing the mails of different people which can again be viewed by clicking on the “Subject”. One thing to be noticed here is say for example primarily a person saw Inbox(10) now clicking on a mail automatically reduces the number.
The Bulk Mail FolderAnother place where mails might come is the Bulk folder which can also be viewed when we first log in to our mailbox, generally it is deemed that typical mails which are larger than a certain size find themselves in the bulk folder, but with changing times one can also say that this folder consists of mails which are assumed to be advertisements or mails sent by persons with whom we have no concern whatsoever. The process of reading mails are similar as described in the case of navigating the Inbox. And yes as the mail storage space has been considerably increased now this is not such a headache but still one should know that mails appearing in the Inbox only count towards the utilized space and the Bulk mails are not taken into consideration.
How To Send An E-mail?The next important thing which we all would like to do is to send mails to other recipients. For this we are required to click on the button “Compose” , the page that follows gives us all the opportunities to write a mail to other persons. The steps to be followed as according to their presence in the page are as follows:
1) In the box corresponding to the “To” we are required to type in the recipients e-mail address.
2) Subject which comes next in short describes the content of the mail and required to be written by the person himself as the recipient will view this accordingly as we ourselves do while checking the inbox.
3) There are two more options that can be enabled and these are CC and BCC which stand for Carbon Copy and Blind Carbon Copy respectively. This feature can be used when the mail having the same subject matter is to be delivered to many recipients, and here we can separate the e-mail addresses of many people by a comma. For instance in the CC box we can write xyz@yahoo.com,abc@yahoo.com and so on note that there aren’t any space after the comma. The BCC does the same thing however the only notable difference between CC and BCC are that in the former all the recipients names are disclosed to the individual recipients while in the latter this is not the case.
4) The comparatively bigger white box is the place where we are actually going to write the subject matter of the mail and one need not worry about the space availability it just goes on increasing. So one can write as much as they wish.
5) Another notable thing here is which makes the yahoo mail different from others is the additional features which we can use while writing the mails including Bold, Italics, Underline, and also the use of Emoticons which yahoo perhaps has the best reserves, so this customization feature is something that not all the other e-mail providers gives us.
6) The next feature that one would like to use is the Attachment feature, this is required if a person wants to send additional files which can be anything from pictures, spreadsheets, music etc. with the mail and they are within 10 MB in size. There is a button as Attach Files we are required to click here and the next page allows us to look for 5 files at a time from our PC once this is done we can proceed to click at the Attach button and the attachment process will take place. Once this is complete the next page will show all the details of the files attached and thereby we have to click on the Continue to message button, and we will find all the file names in the Attachment box. The process is now complete and we can now send the mail by clicking the Send button to the desired recipients.
